Surgery Consulting Times
Prebookable appointments can be made by contacting the surgery from 08:30 until 18:00, Monday to Friday. Urgent on-the-day appointments can be requested by contacting the surgery before 10:00.
When you telephone Kersiebank Medical Practice or arrive at the reception desk to request an urgent appointment, your details will be taken and you will be contacted by one of our GPs or ANPs. They will assess your symptoms over the phone and direct you towards the most appropriate clinician or service.
In a life threatening emergency, please contact the emergency services on 999.
Patients are requested to telephone before 10am if a home visit is being requested for that day. Home visits will be triaged by one of our ANPs or GPs.
Home visits may be appropriate for patients who are terminally ill, so unwell that they would be harmed if they were moved or patients unable to leave the house, even with assistance.
We request that all other patients attend the surgery because of the extra time home visiting takes. On average, six patients can be seen in surgery in the time it takes to do a single house call. In addition, the care that can be offered tends to be of a poorer quality, due to the lack of adequate lighting, examination facilities and equipment.
Please note that the GP or ANP may telephone you rather than visit you if this is medically appropriate. Ultimately, it is the clinician's right to decide whether or not a visit is appropriate for a particular set of circumstances.
